What you should expect

The Transition Pointe peels back the layers of the Corps de ballet. The Transition Pointe is designed for apprentices, studio company members, or corps de ballet members offering and in depth look at the dance industry as dancers navigate the transition period. Single session or with a plan. Individualized to suit your current dance industry stance. Transition with poise and learn the ins and outs of company life. Be prepared to audition at your best. Please note: I like to meet with a mentee once a month to establish a consistent dance mentorship relationship to maximize the benefits of this work. | Overview | The Transition Pointe aids in navigating one of the most challenging times in a dancers journey. The transition period from student to professional is a crucial time for growth. | What to expect | Dancers can expect to discuss topics pertaining to their dance journey while looking to understand the transition period into the professional dance industry. In addition we will discuss: Etiquette Industry trends Working with artistic staff Professionalism Audition prep (if applicable). Class approaches Advocacy efforts Managing a lack of technical improvement Casting Seniority | Why | With little to no mentorship in school or as I entered three new companies, I decided to create an opportunity for new professional dancers to learn from my experiences to navigate their own circumstances entering a new dance environment. I am not a licensed therapist and am offering dance mentorship that aligns with the industry supported by 25+ years in the field. Our services are intended as guidance and educational support and all conversations are confidential. We ask that students ages 14 and younger must have a parental guardian present unless discussed prior.
